2-in1 Salt and Pepper Grinder

                                         


I love to cook and I also love to use a pepper grinder and a salt grinder. There are so many different foods and recipes that call for finely or coarsely ground pepper or salt. For the longest time I have used a two in one pepper grinder and salt shaker. I also had a separate salt grinder, but it was not refillable. Once the salt grinder was empty, I had to throw it away and no longer had a salt grinder.

I was very happy when I was given the opportunity to try out a great 2-in-1 salt and pepper grinder by

Madison Reed Hair Transformation

 

I got my hair professionally bleached about 14 months ago. I really loved how my hair looked, It was something new. Instead of keeping up with my roots, I was going to grow out all of the bleached hair. I grew my hair out a lot, but as usual I got frustrated with how long the blonde was taking to fully grow out. After much debate, I finally decided to dye my hair again!

I am on Facebook quite a lot. I have lots of out of state family and I tend to migrate to Facebook to advertise my blog. Every time I would peruse Facebook, I kept seeing my blogger friends talking about a company Madison Reed and how much they love their hair dying products. I finally had enough of observing everyone else's great before and after posts, I HAD to try this product out for myself!

First, I perused their website and I was beyond impressed. The first thing that caught my eye was their hair dye is "ammonia, resorcinol, and PPD-Free, with no parabens added". I also loved that the die has "smaller color molecules, called micropigments, create a gentler coloring process that doesn’t require ammonia to aggressively open the hair cuticle to deposit the color the way other dyes do. Our formula has no pungent smell, leaves hair stronger and allows it to hold color longer".

I needed to dye my hair badly and the more I looked through their website, the more I already loved their product! I HAD to try their hair dye out! There was one thing holding me back. I had NO clue what color to chose or what color would work to cover my hair with its "ombre effect".

 

Madison Reed's website has a chat now feature, where you can live chat with a hair color specialist. I used the live chat to explain to the color specialist that I wanted to do something new and different. The darkest I have gone was a soft black and I attempted going blonde but never did the second sitting to finish the process. I have also done many types of reds and a I am a natural brunette. In order to pick out the right color, I sent the hair specialist a photo of what my hair looked like.The color specialist sent me links to multiple different colors they have to offer, which would work well with my skin tone and current hair situation.

After chatting with the color specialist I finally decided on a color and ordered my hair dying kit with an extra tube of dye and bottle of activator. I have thin hair strands but I have a LOT of hair, so the extra dye is a must!

I was so excited to dye my hair! I didn't tell my fiancé I was going to dye it, I wanted to surprise him! When my Madison Reed package came in the mail, I immediately opened it!

                  

There was a box with my hair dying kit and another box for my extra dye, along with a pamphlet with instructions on how to use their product.

                   

This company REALLY goes out of their way to make using their product an easy process! Posted on the inside of the box "sleeve" are the instructions on how to use their product along with a thank you note from the company.

             

I was floored when I opened the main box! Everything was so neat and tidy!

                               


There are 4 small cubbies at the top of the box. One contains two pairs of gloves. That's right I said TWO pairs of gloves! One to use while dying your hair and one to use while rinsing the dye out! There is a shower cap to put over your hair while the dye sits. Also included is barrier cream to use before you start applying the dye and cleansing wipes to wipe up any dye that may have gotten on your skin during the dying process.

To the right of the box are two tubes, one is shampoo and one is conditioner. This was definitely a pleasant surprise to have more than the tiny plastic tester amount that is normally included in hair dying kits. Last and but not least, the final two items in the box is the activator and the hair dye.

I followed the directions and sectioned my hair off into quadrants and clipped them up. I started by unclipping a lower quadrant and worked on the roots first. I continued applying dye to my roots on each of the other quadrants I clipped up. Once I was done with the roots, I applied the color all over, making sure I didn't miss any strand of hair. After I was done applying the dye, I put the cap on and cleaned up with the included wipe.

As you can see by my shirt.. I am quite messy when I dye my hair!

 

I left the dye in for the recommended 35 minutes and then followed the directions to wash out the dye.  In a typical box color kit, I usually have to use my own shampoo and conditioner.

This time, for the first time ever I was actually able to get TWO washes out of the included shampoo and conditioner!

I don't like blow drying my hair because I usually end up looking like a fluffy poodle! Haha! So, I let my hair dry naturally before I decided to take a picture.

                               

I really loved how the color came out on my ends, but it didn't show up like I thought on my new growth. I decided to call Madison Reed. I spoke with another color specialist, who looked up my chat history with the previous color specialist. She saw the before picture and what product I had received and immediately was determined to fix it. Still staying in the red family, she chose a color that would make my hair ONE color and not two!

I was immediately sent a new hair dye kit along with the extra activator and dye. I got the package in the mail Christmas Eve, I have two kiddos ages 7 months and 2 years old. I was getting ready for Christmas that evening, so I couldn't dye my hair then. Instead I locked myself in the bathroom while my son was still asleep and went through the steps to apply the dye to my hair.

The whole time we were opening gifts both my kids looked as to say "what the heck is on your head mommy?". I let the dye sit for about 35 minutes, probably a little longer, since I had to hunt down batteries for my sons new toy. I washed my hair and again let it dry naturally. I even quickly straightened my hair before I snapped a photo!

I absolutely LOVE my hair color and I keep getting compliments on how good it looks!

 

Madison Reed has gained a loyal customer. I honestly cant see myself using any other hair dying product after using theirs. Not only is their product superior to any other hair dyes I've used, but they also went out of their way to make sure I loved my hair color.

Mask it

                                           

One thing that is not often openly talked about is the monthly "gift". I think every girl gets the singular talk about what it is and how to use feminine products and that's it! I honestly don't remember my mom explaining what a period was. I vaguely remember being 10 years old at one of my moms friends house and yelling at her from the bathroom. I think I remember her friend didn't think she had any pads, since she used tampons. At that age, I was horrified at the thought of a period, let alone the concept of a tampon!

One of the struggles I had was properly disposing the used pads. I either got in trouble for using too much toilet paper or just leaving a pair of underwear with a pad in it on the bathroom floor! *gasps*

As I got older, I found a nifty idea to use the wrapper from the new pad to wrap up the old one. This only worked if I was using the same size pad as I did before, but that was not always the case! I used an array of sizes of pads, depending on how heavy or light my "flow" was at the time. Even though I  tried to be crafty and use the new wrapper, I still found myself using toilet paper to wrap up my used feminine products!

This is where MaskIt comes in! This product is awesome! It is perfect for girls and women of all ages! I honestly thought 10 was young to start my period, but apparently there are kids now starting even younger! CRAZY!

This product is crazy easy to use and great to have! To use this product all you have to do is use it like a puppet pretty much. Stick your hand or fingers inside the baggy, grab the soiled feminine product and flip the baggy over the soiled feminine product. Once the product is securely in the baggy, you remove the strip covering the sticky part and fold it over to seal the baggy! Silken Gold really went all the way with this box! I opened it up everything was neatly packed in ribbon draw string sacks and there was even an added touch of some potpourri




In the large bag there was three types of cream and a sugar scrub, along with two other small bags. One bag contained two things of chap-stick and the other had argon oil.

 I am in love with all three creams. The blue label cream has Argan Oil and Lavender. The golden label has Argan Oil and Light Honey Suckle. The purple label has only Argan Oil. I have to say I love all the scents of the creams, but the one with the light honey suckle is my favorite.

I also love the brown sugar fig scrub! It made my face feel SO clean! I wish I could have a gallon tub of this stuff!

I love to flat iron my hair. I so far have gone through 3 unsatisfactory experiences with flat irons. This flat iron is AMAZING! It only takes 30 seconds to heat up to the hottest setting. It only takes me about 45 minutes to flat iron my hair, if i want it perfect an add a cute flip at the end of my hair to frame my face. If i want to just do a quick straighten an go, it only takes me about 20 minutes. Cool down time is also really quick!

24 Grazia® Silicone Baking Cups

                                      

My favorite place in the house is the kitchen. I probably have the biggest sweet tooth you've ever seen. Not only do I have a sweet tooth, but I am also a chocoholic. When it comes to my "diet" and staying healthy, a lot of the times I have to ignore my urge to devour sweets. This is why I LOVE cupcakes, they are miniature cakes! I can eat one or two and not feel guilty about ruining my healthy habits.

One thing I disliked about making cupcakes? I would either have not enough paper cupcake liners or none at all! This is why I was super excited to be given the opportunity to bake with Grazia's colorful silicone baking cups.

I used the baking cups for the first time two weeks ago at a Christmas party I hosted at my place.

I first sprayed all of the silicone baking cups with canola oil. I didn't want to take any chance of the cupcakes getting stuck!
I used package orange color cupcake mix and added orange zest and orange juice from those small Cuties oranges. I followed the baking instructions on the packaging, then let them cool. One of my close friends helped by frosting them and adding holiday sprinkles on top. They turned out GREAT!

All of our natural instinct was to try to peel the silicone baking cup off like you would do with a paper cupcake liner. After a few tries, I found out the easiest way to get the cupcake out. If you gently squeeze the bottom of the silicone cup, out comes the cupcake!

Okay, they were easy to use while baking and easy to get out to eat. I bet you are wondering, how EASY are they to clean? I filled my sink with steaming hot water (my tap water gets REALLY hot) added some soap and tossed the baking cups in for a quick soak. After they soaked a little bit, I went back with a baby bottle scrubbing brush and lightly scrubbed the inside of the baking cups.
Next, I rinsed the baking cups and laid them out on the drying rack.
Once they were dried, I put them back in the plastic tube they came in. So easy to clean and a perfect container to store them in!

Liztek JSS-100 HD Water Resistant Bluetooth 3.0 Shower Speaker

 

 

                                     


My son LOVES to listen to music! I have Pandora Radio on my cell phone. My son has a few of his own stations on Pandora.

Now that he is two he loves longer baths. He likes to play with his bath toys and just splash around. He is too young to be left alone in the tub just yet and other than the splashing noises and occasional music from a duck bath toy... bath time is way quite boring and quiet!

I was very excited to be given the opportunity to try out Liztek's water resistant Bluetooth shower speaker!

I had to charge the speaker before I could use it. It did not take long to charge. While charging there is a red light visible and once it is done charging the red light goes off and the speaker makes a noise. I really like that there is not only a visual but a noise that tells you the speaker is charged. If you leave something plugged in after the batter has been charged it can actually ruin the battery. Same goes with laptops and phones. It is even suggested that if you want to have your laptop plugged in, to remove the battery.

Anyways before I deviate too much about batteries and how to extend their life, I must continue talking about the Liztek Shower Speaker!

So far I have tried it while taking a shower. The speaker itself does not have any volume control buttons and I found it a little hard to hear the music.
                           

The second time I used the speaker was out in the living room! I connected my phone via Bluetooth and played one of my stations on Pandora Radio while doing a few things on my computer. The speaker was just loud enough for me to jam to my tunes but not loud enough to wake up my daughter who was sleeping! I know this product is made to use the acoustics of the shower stall to "amplify" the music, but I was showing the product to my mom. One of my all time favorite songs came on and I just decided to just leave the speaker on!

While showing the product off to my mom, I also tested out the calling feature of the speaker. I made a call on my cell phone while it was connected to the speaker.  I had a full conversation with my dad through this speaker with no issues. I even asked him if he could hear me well. I was holding the speaker and he not only heard me but he heard my mom, who was on the others side of the room.

Next, I will finally use the speaker for my son during bath time! I cant wait to jam out to some tunes from his Pandora Radio stations!

I absolutely LOVE softy wipes! I use them to wipe down my sons highchair tray, his hands and face after he eats. They are tough enough to kill germs but gentle enough for my sons skin! Now that my 7 month old really has interest in jar food I will be using them even more!

Emma Learns to Sprout

Well as usual with my book reviews  this is going to be a short one. I hate spoiling too much about a good book! This review is going to be about a really cute book called Emma Learns to Sprout!

What is sprouting you may ask??? Apparently it is when you soak beans in water and let them sprout and grow some After you  let the sprout you can eat them!

Anyways onto the book!

Emma's mom asks her if she wants to sprout. Emma didn't know what that was! Her mommy explained to her what it was. She chose her favorite food to sprout, Lentils! Emma and her mommy soaked all the different types of beans in a covered bowl over night. When they checked them in the morning they grew! Are we done sprouting mommy Emma asked her mommy. No, Emma, we have to strain them , wash them and cover them again and tonight we will wash them again.

Emma went to Kindergarten for the day, she was excited to soon eat the sprouts! When she came back from school, Emma and her mommy checked on the beans again. Why do they have tails Emma asked her mommy?

Mosquito Repellent Incense Sticks

                                    


I not only live in Florida but I live in the Tampa Bay Area. I live extremely close to a bay of water, which means I not only battle mosquitos but also deal with no-see-ums!

I have two kids and I really dislike using the spray on mosquito repellant. I have a two year old and a 7 month old. Every time I turn around they either have their fingers in their mouth or my son will have his foot in his mouth or he will be sucking on his arm.

I really like this product because it is deet free and non toxic. Also, unlike a candle, there is no open flame!

I used it for the first time, the kiddos where napping and I had a moment to relax outside by myself. It did not have a strong scent and seemed to really work and repel mosquitos!

I will definitely be using this product again when my little man is outside!

Brooklyn Beans Variety Pack & Giveaway

                                        

I was one of those people who envied others who had a Keurig machine. I went to visit my "Aunt" Ann in Mississippi. She gave me her Keurig machine that randomly stopped working one day. She said if I contacted Keurig they would send me a box to send the broken one back to receive a new one.

After we got back home from our road trip I decided to plug in the Keurig to make sure it REALLY was broken. I actually got it to work! I cleaned out the system with vinegar and then flushed it with water. It worked perfectly! Now, a year later it still works!
