Bethany Beach Books

Hello everyone! It has been quite some time since I have last posted on my blog. Update on myself, I am 37 weeks pregnant with a little girl! SO needless to say I have been SLIGHTLY procrastinating doing this review. BUT here I am! Nesting and ready to write! If you are a bookworm you better read up, this is for you!

Bethany Beach Books is a service through cratejoy where a book a month is sent to you.

Their packages and pricing include...

Children $9+/month
Young Adult $13+/month
Adult: The Jane (historical, contemporary, or literary fiction) $16+/month
Adult: The Ernest (Thriller, action, suspense) $16+/month

I chose and received a months subscription of The Earnest. The book I received Mothers and other Strangers. Some extras came in the box. A cute business card, info about the book, a sneak peak of the next months book, something signed by the author and of course... the book!

I love to read, but lately with kids I have not had much time to read. I devoured a Harry Potter book in a day. I am just a bookworm. Being able to go and shop for a book at the bookstore like I enjoy does not happen anymore either. This service is great because it not only takes the guesswork out of choosing a book, but it gives me a book I may have not tried reading in the first place. This way I can broaden my genre of books I read. It also conveniently cuts out the trip to the bookstore!

So far I have read about three chapters before promptly falling asleep. I am really enjoying this book and it has not really kicked into high gear yet. Hoping I have the energy to read more of this and hopefully finish it before princess arrives!

To subscribe to this really neat book service head over to Bethany's cratejoy link here.

Kitchen Table Passport

Wow! It has been an insane past few weeks. I got sick, had final exams, then got sick again. I am actually STILL sick right now, I only feel good enough to function semi-normal! I am so so so behind with my blog it is not funny either! I should have written this review long ago! Anyways without further adieu!

I love trying new foods so when I found out about Kitchen Table Passport, I knew I had to try it. This is a neat monthly box with the concept of exploring the world through your taste buds.

Each box comes with discovery cards, a taste package (spices and recipe), and mementos.

I was actually extremely excited to find out I got Korea as my country. In my box I got lots of cards talking about their food, lifestyle, and much more! I even learned how to say different words in Korean on each card!

My mementos were a crispy seaweed treat (which my 2 year old daughter devoured, go figures!) and neat metal chopsticks!

The recipe I received was Dakbokkeumtang which is a spicy braised chicken. To be honest with me being sick, I have not had the time to get the ingredients for this recipe. It looks delicious though and as soon as I am 100% back to myself I will be doing so.

What I really liked about the recipe, was the fact it included the spices. Especially with a foreign recipe, it requires you to go to a specialty store. This sometimes makes it impossible or extremely pricey to make what your cooking.

I also like how they sent me a fairly easy to follow recipe. I have cooked ethic food before and the dishes I chose were super involved and took forever to cook. The simplicity of this dish is really nice!

The cool thing about this company is it has many options. You can choose one country and try it out, or make it a reoccurring monthly thing. Their full box with everything I received is $29.95/month.

You can also give this as a gift! With give a gift you can choose a country for $29.95, gift 3 months for 74.95 (which you save about $20 this way v.s buying 3 separate months), gift 6 months for 119.75 (which you save about $60 doing it this way v.s buying 6 separate months).

Finally if you just want to cook and could go without all the extras. There is also an option for you! There is a taste only monthly option for $9.95!

Like the idea of these amazing options offered? Head on over here to check them out!

Gold Medal Wine Club

My life is hectic. I am a mother of two, I work, and I am a college student. When I get home from work, one of three things happen. I fall asleep, put the kids asleep, or do homework. I rarely have time for myself! Now, I find myself shopping only when absolutely necessary. When it comes to a day when I have friends over, I have to go out and buy a glass of wine for the event. Now that I found this amazing company called Gold Medal Wine Club.

This company has not one, not two, but six different types of wine clubs within their site!

Gold Wine Club
Platinum Wine Club
Garagiste Wine Club
Pinot Noir Wine Club
Diamond Wine Club
International Wine Club

Each club's price and of course contents varies. I personally received their Gold Wine club. This specific club you can get 2 or 4 bottles of wine sent to your home. You can get this sent to your home for as low as $37. In my shipment i received 1 red and one white wine.

They put a lot of thought into my delivery.

Not only did they send a nice note to me, they also send me so great information about wine and their club.

The wine even came tied up in these neat satchels!

The wines I was sent in my box, I actually really liked! They were a hit at a couples dinner night at my house!
I am not extremely familiar with different wines other than white or red. As silly as it sounds I normally drink mixed drinks, like a margarita. I like sweet things, thanks to my sweet tooth. I have been trying to broaden my taste preferences.

I know I love Sangria and I am not fan of Zinfandel or Chardonnay.  Every different type of wine I try, I learn more about my personal preference!

This is why I love the wine club. Not only do I have wine sent to my doorstep, but I can figure out what types of wines I like. It takes away that hesitance when I shop for wine.  Will I like it or will I hate it?  It is always a surprise at your doorstep!

If you love wine and love the convenience of having it shipped to your home check out this company and their many clubs here.

Craft Beer Club

I am honesty not the biggest beer person... not because I completely and udderly dislike beer... but because I have not found a beer I actually like.
I have not been very adventurous when it comes to tasting new things.

This is why I decided to try a company called Craft Beer Club. This beer club is all about sending a variety of different craft beers to your front door.
For $39.00 you get 12 craft beers sent to your front door! The best part about it? Shipping is always free!!!

How often you get beer is all up to you! You can choose monthly, every-other-month, or quarterly! This company is great for the avid beer drinker as well as the occasional drinker!

I received four different flavors of craft beer. I received three of each of the four flavors, making a whopping twelve bottles of beer sent to my front door! I was not the only one drinking the beer either.

I honestly did not like the taste of most of them personally. I sort of liked Stacy's Mom beer. This is a beer with the fruit flavors in it. Since I do not drink all the time, I gave my neighbors some of the beer to try. I did this so I can get more than just my opinion on it. I figured it would be cool to get 3 peoples opinion on the beer!

I have not been able to speak with the third person about the beer, but I was able to talk to one person. He did not try the darker beers, but he enjoyed the lighter ones. He is not a sweet beer person so he personally thought the one I sort of liked was too sweet! Go figures!

I wont leave you in suspense any longer though. I will now talk about the beer flavors I received

Stacy's Mom is made by a company called evil genius. This company began brewing in 2008. This specific beer is made with IPA-dry hopped beer made with citra hops. The flavor is described as explosive aroma of  tropical fruits, lemon peel, peach and mango, complimented by a clean and slightly toasty malt base. I guess this is why I liked this one. It has a bunch of fruity flavors in it! This beer is available year round.

This one has quite a unique name! Purple Monkey Dishwasher! It is also brewed by Evil Genius. The craziest part is the flavor of the beer! It is Chocolate Peanut Butter! The company describes this beer as the following: "We start with a world-class American-style porter recipe, which is already laden with notes of chocolate, sweet malts, caramel, and molasses, and then take it to the NEXT LEVEL by infusing it with natural chocolate and peanut butter! The final product is like a candy bar in a bottle that is deceptively quaffable despite it's strength. Just take one sip and you'll understand why this is our signature, year round porter." I honestly was not a fan of this beer. I do have to remind you, I am NOT a beer expert and my dislikes does NOT saying anything about the quality of the beer itself! I am still trying to find what I enjoy in a beer.

Spider Bite Beer Co. makes these next beers and boy does this one pack a punch! This one has 10% alcohol! WOW! When I tasted this, I honestly could not place my finger on the taste. Until I had a friend taste it and she shouted COFFEE! It WAS coffee I tasted! I just could not put my finger on it because I never would have imagined beer tasting like coffee! I honestly was not sure what I thought about this beer. I am still unsure if I like it or hate it.
The final beer is also made by Spider Bite and Co. This is another one I personally did not enjoy. I think it may have been the dry finish to the beer. My neighbor on the other hand enjoyed this beer! Wondering why it is named First Bite? It was the first beer this company ever brewed!

Do you enjoy beer or know someone who does? Check out Craft Beer Club's services here.
